After winning a competition to be the co-host of Sale Of The Century for a night and thus gaining her first appearance on television, Livinia appeared in several small roles in telemovies and TV dramas in the mid 1990s.[1] She became better known after a short stint as the host of children's show Plucka's Place in 1997 led to a job as co-host of the long-running prime-time variety program Hey Hey It's Saturday.[2] From 1998, she co-hosted a radio show on TT FM with Ed Phillips.[2] After the cancellation of the show the following year, Nixon had a number of presenting and reporting jobs on the Nine Network, including:
In 2006 she was a presenter on Getaway for a short period, and was co-host of the Temptation game show – a reincarnation of Sale of the Century.[1] Nixon was also known for her appearances with Mayor John So in a tourism promotion campaign for the city of Melbourne entitled That's Melbourne. The campaign was successful enough to be spun off into a half-hour television show presented by Nixon. In addition, she presented Things To Try Before You Die with Jules Lund and Gary Sweet.[2]
In 2009, Nixon appeared in both Hey Hey It's Saturday Reunion specials. The popularity of the specials led to the revival of Hey Hey it's Saturday in April the following year, in which Nixon resumed her role as co-host.
Livinia is also a fill in weather presenter on Nine Afternoon News.
Nixon completed the double degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (BCom/BA) at Deakin University, majoring in Marketing and Chinese.[2] She later completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Science at the University of Melbourne in 2004.[2]
Nixon is married to Alistair Jack, a builder from Melbourne.[3] They were married on 11 April 2009 at a beach ceremony in Queensland.[3] Nixon gave birth to a baby boy, Henry Rider Jack, on 16 January 2010.[4]
